This book belongs to the documentary volume of the "Modern Patriotic Gods" Pillar of the Nation series. It is based on official historical materials and provides a complete account of the magnificent life of Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of the modern democratic revolution. Living in an era of declining national fortunes in the late Qing Dynasty, surrounded by great powers, and the feudal system shackles the country's development, he was determined to overthrow the decadent monarchy, traveled at home and abroad to gather revolutionary forces, organized armed uprisings many times, and went through many hardships and defeats. Finally, he led the Revolution of 1911 to end the two thousand years of autocratic monarchy, establish the Republic of China, and usher in the era of the Chinese Republic.
He proposed the revolutionary program of the Three People's Principles, constantly adjusted his revolutionary ideas in line with the times, and established three major policies: alliance with Russia, alliance with the Communist Party, and support for agriculture and industry, and promoted the revolution to keep pace with the times. He lived abroad all year round to raise revolutionary funds, preached the concept of national salvation, and gathered Chinese people at home and abroad to join the national salvation movement. He believed that "the world is for the common good" throughout his life. He did not seek personal power, status, or wealth, but devoted himself to pursuing national independence, civil rights, freedom, and people's happiness.
Even though he suffered repeated setbacks and was displaced, he always adhered to his original intention of saving the country, laid a solid foundation for the social transformation, ideological emancipation and national modernization of modern China, and spent his life practicing his ambition to revitalize China. He is recognized as a great patriot and revolutionary leader in modern times.
