This book belongs to the independent documentary volume of the "Modern Patriotic Gods" series of "Pillars of the Country", which fully tells the patriotic life of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, the overseas Chinese leader who worked hard to save the country and devoted his money to running schools. The young man went to Nanyang to start a business through hard work, operating rubber and commerce to establish a strong industry, and became a well-known overseas Chinese industrialist in Southeast Asia. After his career was successful, he did not enjoy exclusive wealth. He always cared about the destiny of his homeland and the country, and established the belief that "education is the foundation of a country."
He spent most of his personal assets to establish a series of primary schools, middle schools, normal schools, fisheries, navigation, and business schools in his hometown of Jimei, Xiamen. He single-handedly built the Jimei education system and even laid the foundation stone for the founding of Xiamen University. During the Anti-Japanese War, he traveled to Southeast Asia to raise funds, called on overseas Chinese to support the motherland in the war, and firmly spoke out against foreign aggression.
In the face of war, turmoil and economic setbacks, even if companies are under operating pressure, they still reduce personal expenses and prioritize ensuring school funding. He lived a simple and vegetarian life, and devoted his life's wealth and energy to his hometown's culture, education and national salvation. He set a supreme example of overseas Chinese's patriotism and service to the country, and interpreted the great spirit of overseas Chinese who care about China, rejuvenate the country through industry, and strengthen the country through culture and education.
