Synopsis
## Introduction to the work In AD 2719, human civilization has completed the colonial expansion of half of the galaxy. The two regimes of the "Pan-Solar System Federation" and the "Fringe Galaxy Community" broke out in the "Xinglan War" that lasted for hundreds of years due to resource distribution and ideological conflicts. The nuclear fusion cannonball evaporated half of Orion's habitable atmosphere, and the wake of the curvature voyage tore apart dozens of stable star gates. The once prosperous colonial planets were reduced to scorched earth one after another, and trillions of people were displaced in the war. When the war entered the 107th year, the Federation Army's "Homecoming" reconnaissance ship accidentally discovered the "Consensus Matrix" left by ancient alien civilizations in the uninhabited star field - this device that can transmit consciousness across time and space and allow all intelligent life to feel each other's pain has become the only key to ending the war. Some people want to transform it into a weapon that attacks indiscriminately and completely destroy the opponent's will to resist; some people want to activate its native function so that everyone holding a heavy weapon can see the blood on their hands. Around the ownership of the Matrix, the fates of the military, anti-war organizations, speculative warlords, and ordinary people are twisted together. From the ruins of the mother planet burned by war, to the cosmic cemetery with tens of millions of battleship wreckage floating around, from the feasting Neutral Zone space city, to the ruins of ancient civilizations lurking unknown dangers, a group of people who were originally in different camps gradually understood in the process of making choices: war is never a game for a few people, and peace is not a unilateral surrender. All ordinary people standing at the crossroads of history must ultimately make a choice for the direction of civilization. When the matrix is finally activated, all souls swallowed by war and all desires for peace will become the star map for human civilization to move into the future. ## Core Protagonist ### Lin Yan Male, 32 years old, former Major of the Pan-Solar Federation Marine Corps. He was born in the agricultural colony "Qingyang Star" that was bombed by the Community army. His parents and sister were both killed in the war. He was drafted into the army at the age of 16. He is the youngest tactical command genius in the Federation Army. He once led a team to destroy three enemy capital ships with a single frigate. On the surface, he is indifferent and taciturn, but he is a "federal sharp knife" who never shows mercy when performing tasks. In fact, he always has doubts about the war in his heart. He has seen too many innocent people die in the crossfire between the two armies, and has been secretly using his authority to protect civilians in the war zone. He was betrayed by his superiors while performing a mission to snatch the Consensus Matrix, and was accidentally rescued by the community's medical soldiers. He was then forced to find the true purpose of the Matrix between the two camps. He is the core character in the entire story who oscillates between "revenge" and "ending the war." He carries with him half a bar of handmade soap left by his sister. It was made with vegetable oil produced by the planet before it was bombed. It has been there for sixteen years. This is his last obsession with a peaceful life. ### An Ye Female, 29 years old, captain of the Medical Department of the Fringe Galaxy Community. She was born into a "military-industrial family" of the community. Her father was the community's top weapons research and development expert. However, she became a field doctor against her family's wishes. In the past ten years, she has rescued more than 2,000 soldiers on the front line, regardless of camp. He seems to have a gentle and gentle personality, but is actually extremely principled. When he sees a wounded soldier, he must rescue him, even if he is a federal soldier who has just killed his comrade. During a search and rescue operation in a war zone, he picked up a seriously injured Lin Yan and rescued him even though he knew his identity. Later, because he insisted on using the consensus matrix to stop the war, he was wanted by the family and the community military at the same time. Always believing that "no hatred is worth spending a generation's life to fill", she always keeps a record board in her bag with the names of all the people she failed to save. Her biggest wish is that one day the war will end, and these names can be engraved on the Peace Monument, so that everyone can remember that they are not numbers in the war, but living people. ###Karelina Female, 37 years old, leader of the non-campal "Ferryers" organization. She was born in the neutral space city "Star Port". When she was sixteen, she witnessed Star Port being blown up by stray bombs from both armies, killing her parents and the city's 300,000 residents. She survived by chance, and later established a ferry organization that specializes in rescuing civilians in war zones. She has nearly a thousand deserters from various camps under her command. She has a fierce and straightforward personality, and she only cares about the results when doing things, not her position. Whether they are from the Federation or the Community, as long as they are willing to pay, she can help rescue them from the war zone. She will also blow up the material transport ships of the two armies to avenge them for harming civilians. One of the first people to know about the existence of the Consensus Matrix, he initially wanted to sell the Matrix to the highest bidder in exchange for money to save more refugees. Later, he was persuaded by Lin Yan and An Ye and became the biggest helper in protecting the Matrix. The star map of Fanxing Port is tattooed on her left shoulder, and a necklace made of three hundred thousand civilian identity chips hangs around her neck. She often said, "I am not a good person. I just want those who started the war to be buried with the people of Fanxing Port." But in the end, in order to protect the civilians in the war zone, she was the first to stand in front of the warlord's cannon. Concept: science fiction
