The writing style focuses on a dank and treacherous sense of broken atmosphere, and distinguishes three emotional tones: the hatred that breeds love between Britain and France for thousands of years, the endless pure hatred between the Soviets and Germany, the restrained pure love between Russia and China that crosses the wind and snow to support each other, and the post-war redemption of Germany and Italy, the geographical pull between South Korea and Japan, and the long-term companionship of the United Kingdom. There are no cheap sweet pets, and all love and hate are rooted in real historical scars.
The entire novel uses a century-old game between nations as a chessboard, and everyone is a pawn in the game.
