On New Year's Eve, Li Jiahua was getting snacks at the casino.
But after standing at the table for less than three minutes, the elegantly dressed woman turned her head and stared at her face.
"Do you believe that you will win enough to be carried out tonight?"
This woman's name is You Qian, a gambler from Jiangcheng who spends money lavishly and has a heart as high as the sky. That night, Li Jiahua was pulled to the poker table and he inexplicably won seven figures for You Qian.
The next day, You Qian offered a contract: 100,000 yuan a night, sitting in a VIP room as a "mascot", and not having to do anything but "be present".
Li Jiahua signed the contract readily. She did make every boss win money, but she didn't like the nightly entertainment in the casino, let alone the ill-intentioned arrangements of the big bosses. Li Jiahua submitted his resignation to You Qian.
When she got home, the neighbor's aunt who had raised her since she was a child told her that You Qian was her aunt's daughter. The aunt begged her to save the greedy child. Li Jiahua said nothing.
It took her eight years to get close to You Qian again. From across the gambling table, to the side of the gambling table, and then to the only number You Qian would dial when he was drunk and unconscious.
On New Year's Eve of the eighth year, Li Jiahua went to the casino to get snacks again - this time You Qian sat across from her and pushed the chips to the middle of the table: "I'll teach you how to play. If you win, it's yours, if you lose, it's mine."
Li Jiahua said: "I don't know how to gamble."
You Qian smiled: "You have already won me just by sitting here."
Haojiang is so small that people from two worlds will always bump into each other. Haojiang is so big that it took them eight years to sit at the same table.
Not every bet needs a winner. Sometimes, it just takes someone willing to sit through it until the end.
Purpose: This is a story about good luck. But it's not how you win, it's what you want to keep after you win.
