Synopsis
First volume: The first volume of "Journey to the West · Barnyard Note" One may ask: Now that "Journey to the West" has been completed, why is there another "Baan Chao"? Answer: What is recorded in the true biography is all about the four masters and disciples learning the scriptures. However, along the way, the monsters and monsters encountered have their own causes and consequences, and their departures also have their own reasons. For example, there are strange sounds in the deep mountains, night whispers hidden in the palace, Old Testaments left behind in the heavenly palace, and former alliances hidden in the demon world - these are all things that the true story has no time, inconvenience, or the heart to record. The true story preserves its bones, and this compilation preserves its rhyme. If the viewer asks: "Is this really true?" The answer is: "On a moonlit night, go and listen to the deep valley, and there will be an echo of its own - if you can't find it, you can make it up again." Preface Love Tribulation 1. Other Records of Western Liang (1) The country of Xiliang is located in a remote area in the Western Region, surrounded by mountains, except for the Zimu River that meanders through its territory. There are no men in the country, and women are the kings, and they are inherited from generation to generation, and they are hundreds of years old. Its rules for governing the world, the number of tributes, and the system of military defense are all recorded in the "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty" and will not be repeated here. However, what is recorded in the official history is nothing more than an outline. As for the details of the palace and the subtle emotions of the curtains, they are often ignored. Or one might say: "How can such trivial matters be recorded in the history of the country?" I said otherwise. The rise and fall of a country is tied to the Lord; the Lord's emotions are tied to Youwei. If the details are not recorded, history will lose its bones. This is also the origin of this "Bielu". In the past, Master Tripitaka of the Tang Dynasty traveled westward to obtain Buddhist scriptures. His Taoism passed through this country. The queen fell in love with him at first sight and became her royal younger brother. Although the incident is recorded in the main story of "Journey to the West", there are only a few sentences, and during the period of tossing and turning, pondering over decisions, no details are given. After the master left, the queen was depressed. After court, she sat alone in the royal garden, silent to the moon. The palace people stole things without knowing the reason. Suddenly one day, a girl came from Du Enemy Mountain and brought her harp to pay homage to the king. The gentle sound of the piano is not the music of the human world; the graceful appearance of the piano is not the beauty of the earthly world. The queen never tires of talking to her every night; she never tires of swimming with her every month. Between one piano and one tail, infinite stories are born. Within the confines of the palace, strange news gradually emerged; in the court hall, doubts also arose. However, the queen is calm and does not ask any questions. Alas! People may avoid the word love like a snake or a scorpion, but when it comes, who can stop it? The poisonous enemy of the mountain scorpion fairy is not a human being, but he is more attracted by love than the handsome man with Zhang. The queen, with the dignity of ten thousand chariots, is willing to commit herself to the cave, and she does it out of love. Love is very powerful for people. I visited the ruins at the foot of Du En Mountain and saw that the ancient cave was deep and the stone bed was still there; vines hung down from the door and the piano platform was half-decayed. The old woman pointed out: "This is the Pipa Cave. In the past, the two girls lived together here, gathering herbs and playing the harp during the day, and watching the moon side by side at night. The next generation gave birth to a girl with good features and a good understanding of music. At the age of thirteen, she played the harp and moved the neighbors. She did not know where she ended up." After hearing this, I felt sad and lingered for a long time. Based on what I heard, combined with what Ye Lao said and what Gong'e passed down, I compiled it into eight chapters. The things don't have to be all true, and the feelings don't have to be all false. What was deleted in the official history of the Western Liang Dynasty is preserved in this record; what is tabooed in the official history is detailed in this record. If I don't dare to compete with the official history, I just keep the outline of a romance in the Xiliang boudoir. After reading, readers may ask: "Is this true?" Yu Wei pointed to the Pipa Cave in Dudi Mountain and said, "If you listen to it on a moonlit night, you will hear the sound of the harp." It's the order. Written by Poison Mountain Idle Man Or ask: "Why is it called 'Bielu'?" The answer is: "Liu Xiang's proofreading is in the style of "Bielu". I imitated his example to distinguish it from the official history." Then he asked: "Who is the poisonous enemy mountain idler?" No answer. (2) Deep in the green clouds In the Bajiao Cave of Cuiyun Mountain, a Rakshasa girl with an iron fan lives; in the Moyun Cave of Jilei Mountain, a jade-faced fox lives. Two women work together with one husband, and they are arrogant because of their favor. They tease Rakshasa every time in front of the Bull Demon King. However, Rakshasa has a strong nature and never takes mercy lightly. One day, the fox teased him again. The Rakshasa was angry and went to Moyun Cave with his sword. When the fox heard that Rakshasa was coming, his buttocks trembled and he wanted to escape, but Rakshasa had already entered, grabbed his bun and pressed him on the couch. The fox closed his eyes and waited for death. The Rakshasa looked down for a long time, then suddenly threw his sword to the ground, held the fox's chin with his hand, and forced it to face up. The fox was filled with tears and did not dare to look. The Rakshasa sneered and said, "I heard that you are very charming, so I will try it now." Then he took off his belt and covered the fox's body. The fox was startled at first, and then screamed, unable to refuse. The next day when the Bull Demon King returned, he saw two girls sitting in front of the mirror dressing up. The fox was leaning on the Rakshasa's shoulder, his eyes still red. The king was astonished, and the Rakshasa looked at him with his sideways fan: "From now on, stay outside the cave." The main palace entered the cave and changed his words overnight. (3) Moon Palace Jade Rabbit The palace of Guanghan is eternally silent. Chang'e hugged the rabbit, and the rabbit pounded the medicine, and every year passed like a day. The rabbit takes the form of a woman and waits on the left and right, which is not against the law. However, every time Chang'e sat alone, the rabbit would often lean on her knees, and Chang'e would stroke her hair without saying a word. Houtu suddenly descended to earth and became a demon. He used the body of the princess of Tianzhu to seduce Tang Monk, but he was not actually Tang Monk. He wanted to make Chang'e know his heart. When the incident failed, the general took over, and Chang'e descended from the Moon Palace to lead him back. The rabbit fell to the ground and wept. Chang'e leaned over and Xu said: "Go back." Just one word. The rabbit was lying on its knees and could not raise its head. Chang'e said nothing and would not let go. From then on, the rabbit was still waiting around. However, when Chang'e sat at night, the rabbit no longer leaned on her knees, but stood outside the curtain. We have lived together for thousands of years, and we only know the depth of it once we cry. (4) Putuo Sun Shadow At Luojia Mountain in Putuo, South China Sea, Master Guanshiyin was preaching, and a talented dragon girl stood by her side holding a pure vase. Dragon Girl is sixteen years old. Her hair hangs down to her shoulders and her eyebrows are clear and graceful. Whenever the master preached, the dragon girl lowered her eyebrows and listened quietly without looking up. One day when he was lecturing on the Heart Sutra and he saw that all the five aggregates were empty, the master suddenly looked at the dragon girl and paused for half a breath. Dragon Girl felt her ears turn red suddenly, the bottle in her hand tilted slightly, and a few drops of water splashed. Master Xu took back his eyes and continued to preach as before. However, since then, the position of the Dragon Girl has moved from the right to the left. The master did not even mention the reason, and the dragon girl did not invite him. But Putuo's old servant whispered to each other and said: "The one on the left is close to the heart." Lowering your eyebrows in front of the Buddha for a moment is a thought that will never disappear for a thousand eons. (5) Flower Order All the flowers in the sky have their own masters. The peonies are among the most beautiful flowers, but every time I see a fairy with hundreds of flowers, they often turn their faces away, not daring to walk side by side. The Baihua Fairy laughed and said, "You are the king of flowers, how can you be more respectful?" Peony bowed her head and said to her, "I have only ten days of flowering. The order of the fairy palm hundred flowers unifies the order of the four seasons. How dare I, with the beauty of a moment, usurp the dignity of the four seasons?" After speaking, her eyes were slightly moist, as if they contained morning dew. The Baihua Fairy was silent for a long time and then said: "Please raise your head." Peony looked up, with the shadows of the flowers reflected in her eyes. The Baihua Fairy suddenly reached out with her finger, brushed the remaining dew on the tip of its petals, and then took her hand away. Peony stood on the same spot and did not move for a long time. Among the flowers, there is only one branch bowing its head. (6) Tianhe Old Testament The Weaver Girl watched the Cowherd across the river, crossing the river at the end of the year. However, on the upper reaches of the river, between the gaps in the clouds, a woman often sneaks up around the Chinese Valentine's Day. She is the Seven Fairies. The seventh daughter married Dong Yong, and they were separated by immortals and mortals, and they could not return home after many years. The two women sat side by side on the cloud, not talking about Cowherd Dong Yong, but about the color of the cloud. The Weaver Girl said: "The clouds gather and disperse again, like me." The Seventh Girl said: "The clouds disperse and gather again, like you and me." The Weaver Girl looked at her, and the Seven Girls also looked at each other. They looked at each other for a long time, and suddenly they each covered their faces. For a moment, the Weaver Girl laughed first, and the Seven Girls also laughed. After laughing, they went their separate ways and met again next year, still without saying a word. We are together at the end of the world, and it is not bitter if we don't break up. (7) Plain Girl Xuanyin The Xuannv of the Nine Heavens holds the military talisman and controls the system of the heavenly soldiers; the Su Nunu masters the secret skills in the room and teaches the essentials of yin and yang. One is literary and one is martial, one is strong and the other is soft, all of them belong to the class of immortals. However, a simple girl is good at playing the piano, so she tries to visit Xuannv's palace with her green silk. Xuan Nu was not good at musical rhythm, but Su Nu taught her the key to five tones and seven rhythms. After the teaching was completed and he was about to leave, Xuannv suddenly said: "Leave the piano here." Sunu looked back, Xuannv had lowered her eyes and was stroking the strings without saying a word. The plain girl then left the piano and left. Every night after that, there was the sound of a musical instrument in Xuan Nu's palace, and it was as if she was complaining. When the heavenly soldiers heard this, they looked at each other in shock: "General, when did you learn this?" Xuannv didn't respond. Three hundred years later, Su Nu came back and saw that the harp was still on the table, brushing it clean. Xuannv sat at the table and refused to greet or see her off. The plain girl didn't sit down either, but she leaned against the door and listened to a song. At the end of the song, Su Nu said, "Okay." Xuan Nu said, "There is still one note that is not correct." So Nu Nu came in, took his hand, and pressed the strings. In the evening, the sound of the piano stopped in the middle of the night. The one who teaches the harp comes and goes indefinitely, but the one who listens to the harp stays with him all night long. (8) Yao Chi Shadow Event Yao Ji is the maiden of the Queen Mother of the West, the goddess of Wushan, who encountered the mortal Song Yu in the lower world, and was passed down in the poem "Goddess" in "Gaotang". I also heard that he had children with mortals, regardless of the distance between immortals and mortals. The Queen Mother was angry and summoned her back to Yaochi. She retreated to the left and right sides and sat alone facing each other for a long time. The palace people heard her voice from afar: "My mother is screaming, my daughter is sobbing, I don't know what to say." However, every time Yao Ji returns to the province, the Queen Mother will throw a banquet in person, with all the delicacies Yao Ji loved when she was young. After the banquet, the queen mother often sat alone. The palace people saw that her eyes were slightly red, but they did not dare to ask. When Yao Ji left, the Queen Mother would send her to the pond and say, "There is a lot of wind and rain in the lower world." Yao Ji responded, "My daughter knows." Mother and daughter looked at each other, each speechless. Later Yao Ji did not return, and the Queen Mother did not summon her. His mother was angry at him for not guarding him, but she also pityed him for his straightforwardness. Two Secret Love (1) Yellow Robe Old Testament In the Wave Moon Cave in Wanzi Mountain, the yellow-robed monster took possession of the cave and took Baihua Shame, the princess of Baoxiang Kingdom, as his wife for thirteen years. The world knows its violence, but doesn't know its reason. Three hundred years ago, Kuimulang was one of the twenty-eight constellations. He happened to pass by the Bullfighting Palace and saw a maid leaning against the wall, her back silhouette clear under the moon. The star official stopped and the woman looked back, making eye contact. Xingguan said, "Wait for me." The woman nodded. Later, the star official relegated him to the lower world as a demon, and the girl was reborn as a princess in Baoxiang Kingdom. When Xingguan took her back to the cave, the woman was trembling and speechless. Xingguan stared at it for a long time, then suddenly lowered his head and said, "Don't you remember?" The woman was at a loss. Xingguan then said nothing. In the past thirteen years, I have never committed any crime, nor have I ever released it. You remember your former alliance, but I have forgotten it. (2) Fire Cloud Old Dream The Holy Infant King Red Boy was adopted by Master Guanyin as a good-wealth boy, and the Fire Cloud Cave has been empty since then. There used to be a little demon in the cave. She was the daughter of the Bull Demon King's old tribe, her name was Hong Xiao, and she had been serving Hong Haier since she was a child. When Honghai'er passed away, Hongxiao was only twelve years old. He leaned against the door and looked at her, but Honghaier never looked back. As time goes by, the red ribbon grows longer and never returns. One day, a slip was left on the stone table in the cave, which said: "I have lived in front of the Bodhisattva and practiced cultivation, and I don't want to wait for you anymore." There was no one in the cave, but there were tears on the stone table. A young man leaves without looking back; a young girl waits until she can no longer wait. (3) Jin Chan's legacy Jin Chanzi practiced cultivation for ten lifetimes, and died in the Liusha River in nine lifetimes. However, before the ninth life, I visited a mountain. There was a female demon in the mountain. When I glimpsed her face, I was moved and stayed with her for several days. Knowing that he was about to go to Liusha River, he knocked on his door in the middle of the night and said, "Don't go there, there is danger in the river. I would like to take your place." Jin Chan closed his eyes and chanted sutras, but did not answer. The banshee stands outside the door all night long. The next day when the monks were on their way, the female demon came to the bank of the Liusha River first and threw herself into the water. The sand monk came out and swallowed it, and the golden cicada was able to cross it. When the banshee sank to the bottom of the river, she still looked up at the shadow of the monk. However, ten lives later, Jin Chan no longer remembered this incident. Only Sha Monk had a piece of demon bone in his belly that would not change for thousands of years. Someone has died for you, but you don't know. (4) Bailong Yeyu The third prince of Xihai Dragon Palace was demoted to Yingchoujian for burning the palace pearl. Later, he turned into a white horse and carried Tang Monk on his way to the west to collect Buddhist scriptures. Pass by the old place of the West Sea and stay at the waterside for the night. In the bright moonlight, I suddenly heard someone in the water calling her baby name. The dragon and horse raised their heads and saw a shadow on the water, which seemed familiar. After staring for a long time, he couldn't stand up. The caller also lost his voice. Riding my horse at dawn, I crossed the water and saw a clam pearl, as big as a dove egg, shining brightly. The dragon and horse lowered their heads to sniff it, but finally refused to take it. As we were walking far away, there was a sound in the water, like weeping. When an old friend calls you, it doesn't matter if you answer. Three Old News (1) Tongtian's past events In the Yuan Dynasty drama "Journey to the West", Sun Xingzhe is not the only child. He has a sister, Lishan Laomu, a brother, the Great Sage Qitian, and a younger brother, Shuushuan Sanlang. Called himself the Great Sage Tongtian. Wu Chengen wrote "Journey to the West" and deleted all his family members, making Wukong a stone monkey born from heaven and earth, without a father or a mother. However, the old mother of Lishan appeared on the way to the west and met Wukong several times but did not recognize each other. Later generations doubted it, perhaps saying that there were tears in the old mother's eyes, or that Wukong paused under his stick. Is there really no love between mother, son, sister and brother? This volume traces its origins. The deleted family members are reunited in the barnyard notes. (2) Chariot general Zhu Bajie, in the Yuan Dynasty drama, was originally the chariot-general under Moli Zhitian. He was in charge of the chariot and was not Marshal Tianpeng. Because he robbed a mortal girl as his wife, he was captured by Erlang Shen and demoted to a pig's womb. Wu Chengen changed his background and became Marshal Tianpeng to tease Chang'e. However, there is another reason for the old incident of the chariot general. Are the women he robbed ordinary women? There is a secret in it. This volume makes up for the original story. The rewritten origin is restored in the paper money. (3) Old grudges deep in the sand Sha Monk was originally the god of deep sand in the Yuan Dynasty dramas, not the general who rolled up the curtains. Because Sifan was banished to the Liusha River, he ate every pedestrian. Wu Chengen's crime was breaking the glass lamp. However, the reason why the gods in the deep sand think about the world cannot be tested. It may be that the extraordinary woman he is thinking of is an old acquaintance in heaven; or it may be that on the day he was demoted, he heard the cry of a woman. This volume explores its roots. The sins that were wiped away were re-engraved in the barnyard money. (4) Anecdotes about rivers Tang Monk was born into a lay family, his father Chen Guangrui and his mother Yin Wenjiao. The skill of "Jiang Liu'er" written by Wu Cheng'en can be found in Yuan dramas. However, there are different versions: after Yin Wenjiao was occupied by the water thief Liu Hong, she did not commit suicide by throwing herself into the river. She endured the humiliation for eighteen years. When her son returned as an adult, Liu Hong executed her, and the Yin family committed suicide in front of her husband's tomb. There is another version of the story: The Yin family was not dead, but she hid in a nunnery as a nun. The Tang monk returned from studying for Buddhist scriptures, and the mother and son had a meeting. Wu Chengen did not adopt this theory, but kept it. The ending of being abandoned continues in the barnyard money. (5) Black Pig's Old Debt In Yuan dramas, Zhu Bajie's true appearance is a black pig, with hair like iron and teeth like halberds. Wu Chengen changed it to a white pig, which was docile and ridiculous. However, there are legends about the black pig's previous life - it may be said that it is an ancient mysterious pig who once accompanied Chiyou to fight the Yellow Emperor; or it may be said that it has an old relationship with a certain banshee, and the banshee waits for its return, but does not return. This volume records his lost stories. The bleached color is restored in the barnyard bills. Anecdote (1) Lingshan Shadow Event On the Lingshan Mountain, the Buddha's light shines everywhere and is immortal. However, there is wind at the foot of the mountain, and there is a sound in the wind, like sighing or breathing. The lion of Manjusri looked back at the mortal world with tears in his eyes when he was preaching; the elephant of Samantabhadra shed tears in the middle of the night and tapped its trunk three times on the ground. When the Tathagata was teaching the Dharma, he would occasionally pause and look into space, not knowing what he saw. Sometimes a young novice asked him, but the Buddha did not answer. After a long time, he said, "The time has not yet come." There are also some Buddhas who cannot speak. (2) Pantao's old account The gathering of flat peaches is always new every year, and the fairy music fills the sky. However, after the banquet every year, there are often relics in the peach forest - a hairpin, a towel, and a cup of unfinished wine. One year, the deacon of Yaochi was sweeping the floor and got an earring. It was green in color and was not an old item from the Heavenly Palace. The deacon hid it. Three hundred years later, a star official came and asked, "Have you ever found a pendant?" The deacon returned it. The star official suffered the fall, remained silent for a long time, took it into his arms, and left. The deacon later heard that the pendant was an old thing belonging to Xingguan and a mortal woman, and the mortal woman had turned into dust. If you steal it for one night, you will get three hundred years back. (3) In addition to learning from scriptures Along the way, Sun Wukong's golden hoop leads to numerous dead souls. However, every time a demon dies, there may not be a demon crying. There may be a person from the same hole who is waiting to return, not knowing that he has perished under the stick; or there may be a mother and her son who are dependent on each other, but the son comes out and never returns. They were not in the collection of sutras, and there was no Buddha's light to guide them. However, when there was wind and rain in the mountains, there seemed to be a sound of sobbing. The barnyard official passed by this place and recorded it in the editor. He didn't give his name because he had been there. Those who did not record the truth are those who are waiting for them to return. (4) Book of Reincarnation There is a book in the underworld, called the Book of Reincarnation. What is recorded is not the number of lifespans, but the unresolved feelings of human beings, demons, immortals and ghosts. All unpaid agreements, unresolved words, and unresolved encounters are all recorded in the book. A certain page of the book: "A certain demon and a certain immortal had a look at each other in the past life, and they still look at each other again in this life." Another page of a book said: "A certain monk and a certain girl, their relationship is unresolved, and they are passing each other in this life, and they don't know each other." Every time the judge of the underworld reads this book, he often throws down his pen and sighs: "This book is the most difficult to judge." There is no law to follow when it comes to love. Destiny arises and destiny perishes, so do the gods and monsters. "Journey to the West · Barnyard Note" What is not included in the official biography will be kept by the official. Immortals have things they cannot express, Bodhisattvas have things they cannot express, and demons also have unfinished thoughts. Those who believe are called truth, those who doubt are called false, and those who understand can judge for themselves. There are twenty-one volumes in the book, including eight volumes of Lily, four volumes of Men and Women, five volumes of Demon World, four volumes of Legends, and three appendices. All the things that Wu Chengen deleted, changed, and abandoned in the Yuan Zaju, Song Hua, and Ming Yi editions are collected here. This is called "Barnyard Notes" - the legacy of the official biography and the records of Barnyard Officials. Purpose: "Journey to the West" is about seeking Buddhist scriptures. "Baan Chao" writes about the people and things that were not taken away on the way to seek Buddhist scriptures.
