Yang Xiaotian was born in an official family in the Qing Dynasty. His father was the imperial minister of state and health - a first-grade military official in Beijing.
To put it simply, the levels of officials in the Qing Dynasty were divided into "nine grades and eighteen grades". Each grade was divided into Zheng and Cong. Those who were not within the eighteenth grade were called Weirui, and were attached to the Ninth grade. Among them, the first grade was the largest, followed by the first grade, the second grade, and so on.
