A year in Jianghan Plain begins with the reed flowers by the Canglang River.
From withered yellow to green to snow white. When the reed flowers are white, the rice is yellow. When the rice turns yellow, the eels are fat. When the eels are fat, it's time for those wandering around outside to go home.
Tian Jun lost his father at the age of eight, and his mother Zhang Yuzhen supported the broken home with her weak shoulders. He started out as a young boy sifting sand at a construction site and worked hard to get into college, but finally chose to return to his hometown where he was born and raised. At the same time, a family past spanning half a century gradually surfaced.
The firelight of Sanduo Festival, the old locust tree by the Canglang River, two boxes of unsent letters... Tian Jun met all kinds of people during his pursuit - some folks who stick to their hometown, some prodigal sons who have returned after getting lost, and some old people who have been watching all their lives. He finally understood: Those who leave their hometown are looking for a way back; while those who stay behind are waiting for their return home all their lives.
This is a story about hometown, family, love and return. In this story, there are no heroes or legends, only those walking up and down the field, those busy in the kitchen, and those waiting under the old locust tree. The joys and sorrows of these people are equally thrilling, and their persistence also requires courage.
Intention: His mother grew up with him, he waited with his grandfather, and the secret that had been sealed for half a century was revealed.
