In Berlin in 1946, a metal file box confiscated from war criminals contained a mutilated Chinese diary, a sealed red bean and several war files.
In the war-torn 1940s, Chinese young people Lin Yuanzhi and Su Ya were trapped in Berlin after the breakup of diplomatic relations. A handful of red beans and a small house full of shadows of air raids supported the tender daily life of the two of them cherishing each other in a foreign land. A strange SS captain suddenly broke into their lives. He kept approaching and snooping, and a story of thoughts, lies and secrets hidden in the ruins and wind and snow slowly unfolded.
The war crushed her on her way home, and the foreign snow fell every year. Hongdou's thoughts were finally buried in the dilapidated streets of Berlin. The archivist flipped through the layers of written records, and in the intertwined handwriting of true and false, he slowly revealed a tragic past that was disguised and stayed forever in the wind and snow.
