Synopsis
In the twenty-seventh year of Yong'an, Shen Weiyuan, the concubine of the Yongning Hou Mansion, returned with deep hatred for her tragic death in the cold palace. In her previous life, she was docile and dull, and she wanted to keep herself in peace, but her biological mother, Aunt Su, was killed by a bowl of poisonous bird's nests. Her maternal ancestor, the Su family, was accused of treason and massacred. She was tortured by her aunt, Liu Yuru, and her sister, Shen Qingyao. In late spring when she was fourteen years old again, she hid her full of resentment and disguised herself as weak and meek, protecting herself and taking revenge in the deep house where murderous intentions were everywhere. The aunt-in-law instigated her maid to steal the life-saving snow sesame ointment and set up a trap for theft; the aunt-in-law secretly distributed cold poisonous incense, which eroded the foundation of her Qi and blood for many years; the soup in the kitchen was mixed with colorless slow-shen powder, the bedding was hidden with cold polygonum poison powder, and there were silent murders hidden everywhere in clothing, food, housing, and transportation. Her father, the Marquis of Yongning, Shen Yi, was devoted to his official career, and favored Concubine Liu's legitimate wife, favoring and suppressing her indiscriminately time and time again. The old lady looked on with cold eyes and only wanted to save the face of the Marquis's family and not offend his relatives and dignitaries. No one in the whole family was willing to support the helpless concubine. In a desperate situation, she met her old servant Guixi who had been patient for six years. At that time, Guixi witnessed Aunt Su's murder. Her fingers were broken because she tried to complain, and she was imprisoned in a firewood shed to survive. In her hand was the crescent porcelain piece that was the key evidence of her aunt's poisoning. The two reached a secret pact, exchanged information inside and outside, and used herbs to dissolve chronic poisons in meals and bedding. In the deadlock of confinement and isolation of the hospital and isolation of foreign aid, they relied on cold water soaking medicine to avoid charcoal fire control, and exchanged messages through walls to exchange self-protection strategies. Shen Wei restrained her sharp edge and set up a counterattack step by step: exposing her aunt's sister's frame-up plot in public and tearing apart her opponent's good-natured mask; using a late-night private meeting in the woodshed to counteract the trap of her aunt's mother's etiquette, using the sudden onset of cold poison to break the confinement; and taking the opportunity to ask Gui to come into the house to take care of the medicinal diet, and arrange for his confidants to control the daily diet. She secretly collected the fragments of the kitchen receipts and account pages of Liu Yuru who misappropriated the company's money for purchasing projects and subsidized Liu's relatives. She took advantage of the fact that the old lady of Shouantang valued Mr. Hou's family's weakness the most, and quietly handed over the evidence to successfully break up the control of the inner house that her aunt had monopolized for many years. The sixth prince, Xiao Yanci, watched the internal fighting in the Hou Mansion with cold eyes and regarded her as a pawn that could be cooperated with. He only watched in the dark and never helped easily. The servants in the whole house worshiped the superior and suppressed the inferior, placing bets on both sides. The undercurrent spread throughout every corridor, back kitchen and firewood room, and late night corridor. A bowl of soup hides evil, half a piece of account paper reveals a power struggle, and a piece of broken porcelain is an old grievance. This is a game in the Hou Mansion without the sight of swords. There is no vigorous confrontation, only a series of killings woven by soups, account books, and people's hearts. Shen Weiyuan is trapped in the remote West Cross Courtyard, plotting in a small cage. While resolving a steady stream of chronic plots day by day, she is slowly collecting all the irrefutable evidence that her aunt poisoned her biological mother and embezzled public property. Step by step, she liquidates the blood feud between the Su family and Aunt Su, tearing apart the dark interior of Yongning Houfu where power, conspiracy and cold love are intertwined under the bright shell, and regains the justice that should belong to herself and her loved ones. Concept: The heroine is reborn to protect herself and take revenge.
