Jiuwan is a "good boy".
His father was a gangster who abandoned his wife and children. He grew up in his grandmother's house. He followed the rules from childhood to adulthood, never went out of line or caused trouble, suppressing the unruliness and anger in his bones. The only exit is the underground boxing ring - he doesn't fight, he just watches, looking for something close to his father in that beast-like atmosphere.
Rong Qing is a "good boy".
Top three in grade, loved by everyone, smiles like the sun. But he was a "son" who was bought from birth, and lived to repay the non-existent nurturing grace. He is used to pleasing, used to giving in, used to the whole world being nice to him just to get something back from him.
Until that rainy night. Jiuwan rescued him from the alley, turned around and left without even leaving his name. Rong Qing limped and chased for three streets.
"You helped me, I should repay you." "No need." Ninety thousand heads were not answered.
But Rong Qing followed. Like a tail that couldn't be shaken off, he chirped into Jiuwan's lonely life, breaking Jiuwan's shell bit by bit with soy milk, steamed dumplings, messy books and humming that was always out of tune. And Jiuwan used a spare key, a bowl of hot porridge and the words "You are my family" to pull Rong Qing out of the shackles of seventeen years.
Two people who have been severely hurt by the world use completely opposite methods to drag each other up from their respective abyss. He blocked the fist for him, he helped him find out the truth about his father's death; he taught him that "you can say 'no'", and he told him that "you are not alone."
This is a story about how two incomplete people complement each other. There are rainy nights, a boxing ring, the everlasting locust flowers, and the phrase "I'm waiting for you to come back" that lasts a whole youth.
——None of them are chosen by the world. But they chose each other.
Concept: The world has not given us a home, but we can build one ourselves.
