Good night.
The story starts with the word "um". The girl in the next class replied to him with a message, just one word. He stared at that word and thought for a long time - did she type it casually, or did she not want to talk? Did she wait on the other side of the screen for him to say his next words? Or have you put down your phone long ago?
He has no answer.
He is such a person. She glanced at him in the corridor and he could think about it all day long. She changed a line of lyrics as a signature, and he went over it over and over again for several days. She sent "Happy New Year" at midnight. He stood in the cold wind and read it a dozen times, and his hands were frozen and he couldn't bear to put it down. He regarded every look in her eyes, every message in her circle of friends, and every "typing" as a clue, and he worked piece by piece for two years to come up with what he thought was the answer.
Later I found out that answer was wrong.
I sat alone by the lake until dark, thinking over and over again about things that were as broken as lamp shadows. It can't be said to be a great sadness or joy, but after turning the last page, you will be quiet for a long time.
Perfect for turning two pages late at night. After turning over and over, the sky dawned.
