Two thirteen-year-old boys stole a car and ran away, a morning from which they could not come back.
John and Riddle are neighbors and each other's only friends. Riddle spoke very little. His father was away from home all year round, and there were always fallen leaves on the steps in front of his home. John is cheerful and gregarious, everyone likes him, and the two are attracted to each other.
Their friendship stretches like a railroad track, but also branches off at a certain intersection.

The moment John climbed out of the window, he didn't know what happened at Riddle's house. I don't know the end of this journey.
