High school starts and stops
Jiang Shubai is the youngest female officer in the Bone Painting Department. When soldiers at the border were killed in battle and there were no bones left, she went to collect the bones, traced the faces of the dead one by one, and sent the portraits back to her hometown. Others asked her if she was afraid. She said that bones are more honest than living people and cannot lie.
That winter, she got lost in a snowstorm and was kidnapped by a shepherd girl outside the Great Wall and sent to the military camp. The shepherd girl's name is Ayi. She has an old scar on her cheekbone and her eyes are like burnt coals.
The misunderstanding was resolved, Ayi gave her a bag of candied fruits, and took off his sheepskin coat and put it on her shoulders. "I'm worried about you leaving alone."
In the following months, Ayi often followed her in and out of the wilderness. She painted the bones, and Ayi led her horse over the rocks for her. Tea is handed out in the wind and snow, and cakes are divided by the campfire. The wind in the grassland is so cold, but the things she hands over are always hot.
Then the war drums sounded. The tribes in the grasslands raised troops, and Ayi's tribe was forced to go south. Jiang Shubai was ordered to trace bones with the army. In front of the formations of the two armies, she saw from a distance the dark blue figure in the cavalry formation on the opposite side.
There was no snow that night. On the second day before the formation, Ayi cut himself with a knife, and his blood spattered the frost and snow. She was holding a candied fruit in her hand, amber in color, which she had held in her palm for a long time.
Jiang Shubai knelt in the snow to bury her, and traced her remains with his own hands for three days and three nights. The portrait was locked in a wooden box and never shown to anyone again.
For the rest of her life, she stayed at the border and painted bones all over the world, sending every one of them back to her hometown. When others asked her why she didn't return, she just smiled, lowered her head and continued painting.
Only she knew that locked in the wooden box on the innermost shelf was a painting that could never see the light of day. The person in the painting has peaceful eyebrows and eyes, as if he is asleep - the old scar on the cheekbone is still there, the corners of the mouth are slightly curved, and it seems that he is still holding a candied fruit that has not been handed out.
In decline, will Hu not return?
Because of Weijun, Hu is exposed in the middle.
