Synopsis
In the last years of Emperor Tianzuo of the Liao Dynasty, the Jin soldiers went south, and the Liao Dynasty collapsed suddenly in three hundred years. A fire broke out in Linhuang Mansion in Beijing, the emperor went on a hunt in the north, and the clan was displaced. The Khitan Empire, which once roamed the grasslands, was destroyed in the wind and snow. Yelu Mingan, a sixteen-year-old Khitan clan girl, watched with her own eyes the fall of her old capital and the people who fled their homes. Like all aristocratic women, she could have waited for her fate in troubled times, but she chose to put on armor and lead the remaining army westward with her brother Yelu Dashi. She gathered defeated troops in the snowy fields, gathered refugees in the ruins, learned to lead troops in the face of hunger and cold, and also understood through life and death that a country is never just an imperial city and palaces, but people who are still willing to believe in the future. Also accompanying him was Xiao Yueli, a girl from the Xiao family, a descendant of the Liao Dynasty. She is not good at swords, but she is good at government affairs and knows about taxation, grain storage and people's livelihood. One holds the sword, the other writes the pen; one gallops on the battlefield, and the other plans the rear. From the day of the country's fall, they supported each other and walked the long westward journey. They jointly witnessed the destruction of one empire and jointly created the birth of another. This is a story about war, but also a story about civilization. They lost their homeland, but they did not lose their faith; they lost their dynasty, but they did not give up on the people. From the grassland to the Western Regions, from the remnants of the army to the empire, from the subjugated princess to a generation of heroes, Yelumingan will re-answer what is family and country and what is the world between iron and blood. Later history books only recorded: Yelu Dashi moved westward and established the Western Liao Dynasty. But no one knows that in those windy and snowy years, there were two women who used their lives as firewood to ignite the last starlight of Khitan on the ruins of history. Concept: This work is based on the real historical background of the late Liao Dynasty and the early Jin Dynasty. It is an imaginary creation on the basis of respecting the historical context. It tells the story of a Khitan girl growing up, searching and rebuilding in the era of the collapse of the dynasty and the migration of civilizations. What the work hopes to explore is not simply the victory or defeat of wars, nor the rise and fall of dynasties, but a deeper question: When a country collapses, what is the real force that can continue civilization? Yelumingan in the story was not born great. She grew from a subjugated princess to a commander-in-chief and a ruler, not relying on talent or fate, but through repeated failures, escapes, choices and sacrifices, she gradually understood the meaning of the country, people, system and responsibility. She finally realized that a country has never been just a palace, a territory and a dynasty, but also the common culture, beliefs and hopes of the people who still live on the land. What can really support the continuation of civilization is not power itself, but people who are willing to take responsibility. At the same time, the work also hopes to reinterpret women's position in history. Women in history are often recorded as queens, mothers, wives or daughters, and their value is more dependent on men. "Yueli Ming'an" hopes to create two female characters who can independently promote the process of history. They have their own ideals, beliefs, and political ambitions. They can face wars and govern the country; they can have emotions, and they will not give up their responsibilities because of love. They are not trying to prove that women can replace men, but they hope to express that heroes should never be defined by gender, and those who bear the responsibility of the times can be anyone. In addition, the work also attempts to show the exchange, collision and integration between nomadic civilization and agricultural civilization, as well as the impact of war on ordinary people. Through the intersection of different cultures in Khitan, the Western Regions and Central Asia, it depicts an era when multiple ethnic groups and civilizations jointly shaped history, emphasizing that civilizations do not exist in isolation, but continue and develop through constant exchanges, learning and tolerance. Ultimately, what this work hopes to convey is a spirit of choosing to move forward in the face of great changes in the times: even if the motherland is destroyed and mountains and rivers change hands, as long as there are still people willing to protect the people, continue the culture, and take responsibility, civilization will not truly die. History will not remember the name of every ordinary person, but it is the persistence of countless people that finally converges into a new beginning of an era.
