Jian Qingan met Song Wen for the first time at the entrance of the alley.
Song Wen stood there covered in filth, his forehead and thighs covered with wounds of varying depths. He stood there alone, surrounded by an empty dead silence.
For the first time, Jian Qingan saw a lifeless soul from a living person.
He didn't know where he had the courage to reach out to the unknown child and asked, "Are you alone?"
The child looked at him warily and nodded slowly.
"I happen to be alone, would you like to come with me?" He half-crouched in front of Song Wen.
Song Wen suffered from chronic malnutrition and was not as tall as his peers. He reached out and gently pulled Jian Qing'an's little finger, "I'll go with you."
Jian Qingan let Song Wen pull her little finger and smiled innocently.
"Then where are we going?"
Jian Qing'an lowered her head to think, and after a moment she said with a hint of caution: "I will take you to the end of the world."
Song Wen was not dissuaded by Jian Qing'an's unrestrained speech. Instead, he looked at the other party with bright eyes, "Okay, you take me to the end of the world."
In this way, two helpless little kids who were kicked out of their homes, one holding the other's little finger, walked towards the end of the world that belonged to them alone.
