Zhenren is the name of a Shang historian. Divination using turtle palms. In the oracle bone inscriptions, the character below the word "Bu" and above the word "Zhen" is the name of "Zhenren". The name Zhenren is often used as an important criterion for staging in oracle bone inscriptions. A complete oracle bone inscription is generally composed of four parts: preface (narrative), questioning, fortune-telling, and verification. The preface (narrative) refers to the date of divination (stem and branch) and the person who made the divination (the King of Shang or the historian); the interrogation is to ask about the divination; the divination is to predict what will happen based on the things to be divination in the interrogation; and the verification is to verify the fulfillment of the situation based on the results of the divination. Zhenren is in the prefix of the oracle bone inscriptions, namely: ×× (stem and branch) Bu× (zhenren) Zhen (divination question).
