Jing Yao and Jing Chenyu are identical twin nineteen-year-old boys. One is a scorching sun and the other is an isolated island. Their parents have always favored the dazzling and outgoing Jing Yao, and have long been belittling the taciturn Jing Chenyu. After their over-the-top relationship broke out, they placed all the blame on Jing Chenyu.
Every time there was a family quarrel, Jing Yao would defend his younger brother to the death, willing to break up with his family and promising to be the sunshine that would always illuminate the island. On a rainy night when conflicts intensified, in order to take away the criticized Jing Chenyu, Jing Yao was in a state of confusion and drove away. In the car accident, he instinctively protected his younger brother who was on the passenger side. He was always stuck in the midsummer of his nineteen years, and fell into the abyss.
Jing Chenyu survived, burdened with endless guilt, and spent the long night alone. From then on, every time he looked in the mirror alone, a translucent shadow of Jing Yao would always appear behind him in the mirror, maintaining the posture of protecting him since childhood.
Everyone knew that he was alone, and only the cold mirror hid the lingering light and shadow of the young man. The isolated island that relied on light in the past, with the eternal afterimage in the mirror, traveled alone through the long dark night, and slowly found its own glimmer of light.
Purpose: The prejudice of the native family creates a tragedy of two-way pull. Through the story of twin brothers separated by life and death, and their images in the mirror, it explores obsession, guilt and self-reconciliation; the dazzling light will fall, but the silent person can finally rush to the light alone.
