"Wucheng" is an ancient waterfront city blocked by mountains and isolated from the world. Five groups of people are intertwined in the city: the scholarly family who guard the cultural heritage of the old city, the boat gangs who make a living by waterways, the old theater troupes hidden in the alleys, the patrols stationed in the city defense, and the civilian merchants who have taken root in the city. Everyone is bound by invisible chains of fate, with natural disasters, man-made disasters, suspicion, betrayal, obsession, and separation. No one dies well, no friendship is complete, and no hope remains. The full text adopts a delicate life-oriented narrative and digs deep into the inner struggles of the characters. The ending is completely tragic, with no redemption, no reversal, and no afterlife.
Intention: Fireworks burn, old friends die, the lonely city is deserted
