Shen Shi has an absolute sense of music, but is extremely insensitive to emotions - he can hear a ten thousandth of the pitch deviation of the strings, but cannot hear the true words of his lover. He healed the whole world with music, but could not heal the rift between himself and Gu Shen.
Gu Shen is independent and strong but yet gentle. He has learned to love himself and the "boundary of love".
