Summer, ward, two patients.
Cheng Qing was promised to be hit with a pillow every day. They sneaked out of the hospital and ate soy milk and fried dough sticks, lay on the lawn and watched the clouds guess shapes, huddled together on a small bed and listened to the fan whirring. Xu Nuo said, "You are the most annoying", but he stuffed medicine into Cheng Qing's hands every day. Cheng Qing said, "You still have me," and Xu Nuo smiled.
They made an appointment to go to the south of the city to eat candy cakes together after being discharged from the hospital.
Until one day, Cheng Qing asked Xu Nuo: "What disease are you suffering from?"
Xu Nuo did not answer. The wind from the sea of flowers blew over, the promise disappeared, and Cheng Qing went home alone. He dug out the iron box under the bed, which was full of notes - each one had something written about him and his promise. He thought of his illness: a disease of forgetfulness.
Did that person named Xu Nuo ever exist?
Later, Cheng Qing stood on the overpass and slapped the back of his head with one hand: "You are so useless, kid."
He looked back - the promise was there.
Like the last gust of wind in summer, it never comes back.
Concept: "Without you, I am riddled with disease" - about memory, illusion and undefinable love.
