How could the ambitions of ancient benevolent people be limited to jade tablets and red robes? Only in the responsibility of "worry first and then be happy". Fan Gong built embankments to prevent floods, and Su Zi dredged silt to maintain Su embankments. They both used their talents to make immortal contributions. This is what is called holding one's position and practicing benevolence, and the common man can hardly live up to Qingyun's aspirations. Being far away from the rivers and lakes, it is not unknown. The old farmers work hard to produce abundant grains to support the people; the craftsmen transport heavy stones, and the palace utensils are used to benefit all living beings. Even helping each other when we are strangers, or giving silks to each other on a cold night, is this not the great righteousness in the world. Does the importance of value lie in the appearance of a crown? In fact, it is about benefiting sentient beings in both superficial and profound ways. A hundred years of life are as fleeting as the morning dew, but with a finite body and endless deeds, it will turn into eternity in just a moment. From this point of view, happiness is not an exclusive pleasure, but a beauty achieved together. In the past, Zi Chan was in charge of Zheng, and the houses were not closed at night; Guan and Zhong were in harmony, and the nine princes were united. When he sees the people living in peace and contentment, and returning home from all over the world, would they rather not have the joy of peace? Yanzi lived in a shady alley, eating and drinking from a basket. He could not bear the worries, but he did not change his happiness even after he returned home. This happiness does not lie in poverty, but in the joy of attaining the Tao, and having a peaceful and rational mind. A doctor can help a person when he is in trouble, a teacher can help him shield him, or even a gentle word or a helping hand, and seeing his frown suddenly widen and his withered eyes regaining sight, this comfort is beyond the reach of fine clothes and fine food. For example, the moon reflects on thousands of rivers, and the rivers and rivers are all full of moon, and their brilliance reflects each other, making it perfect. Therefore, we know that Qiong Da has a destiny, and the principle is the same. When it is high, it is like spring rain, moistening things silently; when it is poor, it is like moss and rice, and you can also learn from peony. The establishment of value does not depend on the humility of one's position, but on the purity of one's intention; happiness does not depend on how generous one is given, but on the sincerity of giving. Mencius said: "If you are poor, you can only be good for yourself; if you are good, you can help the world." Those who are good for their own bodies can set an example for the world by upholding their own virtues; those who can help the world can only achieve great harmony by promoting themselves and others. Floating life is like a boat, going up and down with the waves, but the pole and oar are with me, and the direction is in my heart. Use the finished things as a thorn and benefit others as a sail. Traveling thousands of miles across the rivers and lakes, you can see that the world is clear and barren. What regrets can there be in this life?
