Actor Shi Tan × Stonemason Gu Ying
In the troubled times of the Republic of China, Shi Tan, whose parents died, was picked up by his uncle who ran a theater troupe. From then on, he was accompanied by gongs and drums on the stage. The sound of the theater that day caught the eye of Gu Ying, a stonemason who came to help his friend deliver goods, and also hit the rest of his long life.
The Japanese army trampled through the city with their iron hooves and forced him to perform music on stage with a knife at his throat. Tan would rather die than give up and risk his life on the stage to show his innocence.
From then on, there was no more Shi Tan on the stage, only Gu Ying was left carving his appearance on the bluestone slab with one knife after another.
