This article takes the turbulent times of the Republic of China as the background and recalls the half-life story of my grandfather and grandmother, who transcended family backgrounds, broke through the world, and were dependent on each other for life and death. From the heart-to-heart meeting and staying together against the clan, to fighting to save the world, dying in love, and then staying alone for the rest of their lives and fulfilling their promises, a period of joys and sorrows between ordinary men and women hides the purest love, the toughest kindness and the most persistent perseverance in the turmoil of mountains and rivers. It is not only a family secret, but also a gentle footnote of an era.
Purpose: to use the troubled love relationship of ordinary couples to write about the light of human nature that does not care about family status, is not afraid of power, does not give up kindness, and lives up to affection; to praise the preciousness of love and conscience, the power of perseverance and responsibility in troubled times, and to tell readers: Even if the mountains and rivers are broken and the fate is ups and downs, love and goodwill can still illuminate the years and warm the life.
