Lin Qi never thought that he would be remembered by an imaging doctor when he was at his most miserable.
That night at the bar, she was pushed on stage to sing. Shen Chi held a glass of warm water and looked at her through the crowd. Later she learned that Shen Chi had seen her in the outpatient hall a few years ago - a person walking out of the psychiatric ward, his steps dragging, like a draft.
Shen Chi said: "No need to go back. I'm here."
Lin Qi didn't reply. But in her painting under the street lamp, she painted the shadow of one person into two.
Half a city apart, they were awake together waiting for dawn.
Until Lin Qi closed the door with his own hands. She pushed everyone away with silence, including Shen Chi.
A year later, she held an exhibition. On the day the exhibition was moved out, the staff told her: Someone bought the painting anonymously and left a four-word message.
"Nice painting."
She recognized those four words. She also recognized the person waiting for her under the street lamp, holding a glass of warm water.
"It's not that we can't leave. It's that I want to come back."
Bipolar Illustrator x Radiologist
Two-way redemption | Reunion | Adult restraint and turning back
Intention: Two people on their own different paths use silence to accompany them. Amidst the tide of bipolar disorder and the shadow of their original family, they learn to love themselves and each other. Love is not about consuming each other, it is about holding a lamp and walking on the same road. There is still warmth in the embers, and there is an end to the night.
