"Scarlet Confession Room"
Introduction
When Ye Qingyang walked into St. Barnabas Church for the first time, it was raining in London.
He was carrying a painting box, his shoes were soaked, and his hair stuck to his forehead. The blue light from the stained glass window fell on the floor, as if it had been broken and thrown there.
Ji Zhimu walked out of the confession room, wearing a black robe and a silver cross. His dark brown eyes glanced at him and then stopped looking at him. He knelt before the altar, his lips moving but making no sound. Ye Qingyang stood in the last row and touched the zipper of the painting box with his fingers.
"Can I draw you a picture?"
He asked this question many times. Ji Zhimu didn't answer.
He sat in the last row and listened to morning prayers for three months. He didn't know what color Ji Zhimu liked, didn't know why he never smiled, didn't know that he came to London alone when he was fifteen and lived in a church for twelve years without ever returning home.
Later he found out. Wei Lan is his sister's name, and it is the two words that Ji Zhimu dares not mention in his life. He took her to the beach and she died. Mother is dead. His father sent him away. He lived as if he were standing alone in a church, not letting himself get close to anyone.
But Ye Qingyang refused to leave. He sat in the front row without a painting box, just looking.
He said, "I never needed you to think about me. I just needed you to let me stay."
Ji Zhimu didn't look back.
Three years and seven months. It starts with meeting and ends with leaving. One doesn't know how to say love, and the other never dares to accept love. Later he spoke out - he wrote it many times, burned it many times, and only kept one letter.
"My sin is not to love you, but to pretend that I have never loved you."
Intention: Some love cannot be acknowledged until it is lost.
