In the Western Zhou court, there were two important figures.
One is the Taifu Qiyu who guards the ancestral temple. He relies on tortoise-shell yarrow to calculate good and bad fortunes. The changes in the sky and the country's fortunes cannot escape his eyes. Whether important affairs in the court can be done often depends on the results he calculates.
The other is Sima Chuzheng, who holds a heavy army. He guards the army all day long and trains his soldiers and horses. He wears armor and long swords. The border is stable and foreign enemies invade. All rely on him to lead the troops to guard it, and actually support the country's military force.
They were good friends in their early years, but now one is in charge of fate and the other is in charge of war. They often have different ideas about doing things, and there are many disagreements in the court.
But there are a lot of tricks hidden under the peaceful life. The ambitious ministers in the court secretly make small moves and try every means to sow discord. Even the king is secretly wary of the two of them. The foreign tribes outside are still eyeing the territory, and the war will break out at any time.
Destiny is unpredictable and war is ruthless
