This world is called "Lingyuan" - a different space composed of the collective subconscious of all mankind. Whenever the real world welcomes a certain festival, the corresponding "Copy of Heart Nightmare" will be generated in the spiritual abyss. Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Festival, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Halloween, Day of the Dead, Diwali... The more joyful each festival is, the deeper the obsession in the copy will be.
Those selected into this world are all "shadow hiders" who are burdened with severe psychological trauma. Their trauma will be embodied in a kind of superpower - "Hidden Shadow", which is not only the power to protect them, but also the abyss that is always trying to bite them back.
But clearing the dungeon never relies on personal understanding. Each copy has one and only one pass condition: a group of shadow hiders jointly complete the core ritual corresponding to the festival. Lighting lamps, transferring souls, staying up late, giving gifts, exorcising ghosts—these seemingly familiar behaviors will be twisted into death tasks that require reasoning, investigation, and collaboration in the dungeon.
The horror in the copy comes from the pressure of rules, the presence of the unknown, and the fragile trust between companions. The suspense comes from the investigation of the truth behind the festival rituals - those "people who failed to celebrate the festival" hidden in the shadows of history, those forgotten deaths, and those tampered memories.
Those who clear all dungeons can obtain the right to realize their "ultimate wish" once and gain a "shelter" - permanent immunity from mental breakdown. But here's the thing: the longer you stay in this place, the harder it is to tell whether you are running away from your shadow or heading toward it.
Perhaps the answer was never "get rid of".
It's about "living together."
Concept: Your psychological shadow is your only weapon.
