Interpol Xu Zhiheng took over a bizarre murder case: Psychological counselor Luo Yin died in his consulting room. There were no obvious signs of a struggle at the scene. The only exception was an old testimony that contained the smell of white musk.
The testimony points to the "Old White Tower Case" that was characterized as an accident ten years ago, and also points to an old person Xu Zhiheng has not seen for many years, the perfumer Shen Wentan.
Shen Wentan is dangerous, elegant, and good at manipulating people's hearts, like a suspect who walks into the interrogation room on his own initiative. She left behind white musk, bitter orange blossom, iris, and incense wood. Each scent corresponds to a testimony that has been tampered with, destroyed, and forced to silence.
Xu Zhiheng tracked her down and tried her. But as the case progressed, she gradually discovered that Shen Wentan was not the one who created the truth, but the one who tried to save the truth from lies.
Ten years ago, they fell in love and worked together to investigate the old case of the White Tower. Later, one became a police detective and the other became a suspect; one chose order and the other chose the truth.
When all testimonies begin to rot, the cleanest person may be the best liar.
Purpose: The truth should not be buried by power, procedure and decent silence. Even if delayed justice cannot completely make up for the harm, someone must still testify on behalf of the silenced and bring the tampered memories back into the light.
