In 1999, NATO bombed the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia and diplomat Zhang Li died. Four-year-old Jiang Susu has since closed her heart and determined to become a diplomat like her mother. Many years later, she entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and met translator Zhao Zitong during the Serbian President's visit to China. Zhao Zitong's gentleness and firmness slowly melted her frozen wounds. A period of inheritance and healing spanning time and space was quietly completed in front of the monument in Belgrade.
