The protagonists of the story are three women born in the 1960s and 1970s. They grew up in an era when poverty had not yet subsided and social order was still shaky. They experienced the turbulent years when reform and opening up suddenly unfolded. The change of ideas was like a sudden wind, pushing them into a vast and unfamiliar world. Therefore, they became the most memorable witnesses of that era.
What this book tells is their respective ideological awakening, action choices and moral changes during the transformation of Chinese society from a planned economy to a market economy.
Three women in their thirties, children, family, emotions and responsibilities firmly tie them to the realm of reality. Although they live in the same city and their life trajectories appear to be similar, they are actually completely different.
