The late summer wind has faded away from the heat, carrying the scent of withering branches and leaves and spreading across the empty campus.
The world was immersed in the faint and dim sunset, and everything became very slow, so slow that I couldn't hear the bell for evening self-study. I sat on the runway in front of the podium and let the wind blow.
I often walk on the runway in the evening, thinking that I can see you again under the camphor tree - the young man has a thin figure and the corners of his white shirt are ruffled by the evening breeze. This is the most vivid image in my memory. You stood there quietly, as if you were waiting for a sunset that would never come, or as if you were waiting for a promise that was too late to be fulfilled.
That summer, the branches grew wildly and the sun shone brightly, which seemed just right.
Intention: I will always miss the summer when I was 18
