In Jinling in 1941, the Jinling underground organization of the local party launched the "Homecoming Plan" to find a mysterious comrade code-named "Shadow" who had been lurking within the Military Regulation Bureau for more than ten years. The three forces intertwined and collided in the dark night of Jinling. There might be a traitor hidden under every kerosene lamp, and every connection might be a trap. And the "shadow" that even the underground party can't find is standing in the center of the whirlpool, waiting for a signal to go home.
