"May Wind" Message
The wind blew from the winter of 1978, carrying the temperature of the fire, the smell of engine oil, and the youth and dreams of a generation.
This wind blew through the workshop of Hongxing Machinery Factory, through the Weiming Lake on the university campus, through the lights of the night market, and through the flow of bicycles on the street. It witnessed the end of one era and the beginning of another. It messed up Lin Qiming's hair, wrinkled Lin Qiming's manuscript paper, dried Lin Wuyue's sweat, and warmed Shen Mengxi's waiting.
Forty years, three generations. Some people are lost in the wind, some people stand in the wind, and some people find their way home in the wind. Wind is not the answer, wind is the process. It does not judge right or wrong, but only records the truth - recording those souls struggling in the torrent of the times, recording those palms warming each other in the cold night, recording those flames of dignity and hope that have never been extinguished.
The wind in May is neither biting nor fanatical. It is gentle and tough. It is very much like every one of us ordinary people - it is blown by the times, but never stops growing; it is wrapped up in destiny, but it always holds its own rudder.
I hope you can see your own shadow, the backs of your fathers, and the coming and going of a nation in this wind.
May we all stand firm in the wind.
Purpose: I wrote "May Wind" because I wanted to leave some traces of that era. I want to write about the fires of state-owned factories, the awkward care between father and son, the opportunity to resume the college entrance examination, and the perseverance and struggle of ordinary people in the torrent of the times. There are no cheats, no cool writing routines, only the most real fireworks and vitality. Thank you for stopping and reading this story about ordinaryness and resilience.
