A few notes:
1. This story was originally written in 2018. It was revised more than once, but I was always unsatisfied and later simply withdrawn. What is posted this time is the refined version.
2. Why do you need to revise a novel that few people have read? It sounds like a thankless task, but I couldn't let it go and worked hard to change it, not for anything else but peace of mind.
3. None of the characters in the text are perfect...
