On the second day of their wedding, Hebe went to the temple of Hera to report, hoping to get the protection of the goddess of marriage in the name of a done deal. When Hera appeared, she told her a shocking secret: Dionysus was the son of Zeus and the mortal woman Semele, and he was born with the potential to become a god. Hera therefore persecuted him in every possible way. Not only did she design to kill his mother Semele, but she also cursed Dionysus and made him wander the mortal world, suffering from madness.
Hebe was struck by lightning, and after going round and round, she still married her natural enemy. What would Dionysus think of her, the daughter of her mother-killing enemy?
So Hebe had no choice but to feign death and escape. Three days later, her mortal body was struck by lightning and turned to ashes in front of Dionysus. Her real body was quietly picked up by Hera and returned to Mount Olympus.
I thought that this absurd marriage would disappear. Later, Dionysus ascended to Olympus and became the god of wine, one of the twelve main gods. However, Hebe could always feel that the eyes that were once full of tenderness and love were now always staring at him with deep resentment and obsession.
