The light-chasing girl
When she was sixteen years old, Xu Linxia transferred from a small northern town to Yangcheng - a city soaked in Xia Yang, people called it Xia Yang City.
She met Du Qianjin, a young man who always felt sleepy in summer and had darkness hidden in his eyes. He said to her: "This city is too bright, so bright that people can't hide secrets."
They took shelter from the rain in a secondhand bookstore called "Quanxi", shared iced watermelon on the terrace of "Jingshui Feng Bar", and watched the city's sunset from the rooftop of the teaching building. Bi Yehe is Du Qianjin's only friend, and Jiang Yi is Xu Linxia's first deskmate.
But there are places in Xia Yang City that cannot be illuminated. Du Xiangjin had a bandage on his wrist, and everyone said "stay away from him."
Xu Linxia did not hide. She wrote down his every word in an old notebook and ran two kilometers through the night when he called her late at night.
Later she found out that when he said "respect to summer", he was respecting them for still being alive.
Here's to summer. Respect us.
