This is a story about two children in the mountains growing up together.
Jiang Xin and Shen Ci have lived in a village surrounded by mountains since childhood. Under the lights in the courtyard on a summer night, they read a borrowed English book head to head, battled wits over a popsicle, and slowly grew up in the eyes of grandma. From the mountain village primary school, to the county junior high school, and then to the provincial capital high school, they walked step by step towards the other side of the mountain - the place where Jiang Xin thought the moon rose when she was a child.
The road has not been smooth. Jiang Xin will experience the breakdown of interpersonal relationships, face the departure of her loved ones, and at certain moments, she will feel that the road under her feet suddenly collapses. But every time she looked back, Shen Ci was there. He is not the one who blocks all wind and rain for her, but the one who grows up with her.
And when they finally walked far away, they slowly realized that some feelings had quietly grown in those summer nights, those lights, and those moments when heads were reading words next to each other.
