Lu Shengshu is a hugely popular mystery comic artist, tall and handsome, with plenty of adoring fans online.
In public, he’s aloof and quiet. Few people know that in private, he has a vicious tongue.
That’s why so many of his fans envy the person who gets to edit his comics, imagining that just looking at his handsome face would make work feel like no effort at all.
His editor, Fang Xiayu, strongly disagrees.
No matter how handsome he is, that sharp tongue makes him a nightmare.
Every day, Fang Xiayu is either getting riled up by something he says or thinking about quitting. But she can’t bear to leave the other comic artists she works with.
So whenever she has a moment, she vents to her online boyfriend to let off steam.
For instance, after Lu Shengshu snaps, “Is your brain full of water?” she’ll message her online boyfriend, “He’s the one with no brain,” or something like that.
Then one day, rain pours down and thunder rumbles outside.
As the man dries her hair, he coaxes her, “I’m the stupid one. I just can’t understand what my wife is saying.”
Fang Xiayu eats a strawberry and nods. “Good. You’d better know it. Don’t talk to me like that again. You can’t even use a harsh tone. You have to listen to me.”
“Sure.” Lu Shengshu smiles. “I’ll be a good boy and listen to my wife. I have to speak gently to her.”
