Lu Shiyan: A casual and uninhibited architect, he returned to his hometown alley for some reason and rented the yard next door to Shen Qingci. He is outgoing and can cook and take care of others. He seems carefree, but in fact he is extremely careful.
Story summary
Hidden deep in the city is an old bluestone alley, filled with fireworks and quiet time. Shen Qingci lived in the alley for three years, guarding a small courtyard, painting and basking in the sun every day, and living a life without competing with the world. Until one day, a new neighbor suddenly moved into the yard next door that had been vacant for a long time - Lu Shiyan.
One likes to be quiet, the other loves to be noisy; one is reserved and taciturn, while the other is passionate and straightforward. The first meeting was slightly awkward, but they gradually became entangled in the daily life of the neighbors in the old alley: helping to collect drawings on rainy days, sharing a bowl of hot porridge in the morning, encountering each other for a walk under the street lights late at night, Lu Shiyan helping Shen Qingci repair a leaky window sill, and Shen Qingci quietly preparing warm water and snacks for Lu Shiyan who stayed up late to draw.
The two went from being strangers to neighbors to becoming indispensable companions in each other's lives. Lu Shiyan broke into Shen Qingci's closed world and took him to see the fireworks in the city and the evening breeze in the mountains; Shen Qingci relieved Lu Shiyan's fatigue from running around in the workplace and gave him a stable sense of belonging that he had never experienced in his half-life of wandering. In the hustle and bustle of the secular world, two people who had never met each other slowly fell into each other in the old green brick alley, and their ordinary life turned into spending the rest of their lives together.
