Fans say Lin Wen’s songs are more famous than she is. No one knows that all those love songs that took the country by storm were written for the same person.
That person is Hai Ting, her first love and an older schoolmate, as well as the benefactor who made her famous before kicking her to the curb.
Lin Wen has never doubted that Hai Ting loves her. They fell in love in their sophomore year, and Lin Wen naively believed they would leave school together and walk down the aisle.
After five years together, Hai Ting secretly arranged to marry someone else but refused to break up. Lin Wen couldn’t bear the thought of her lover getting married while she became the other woman. She left all her money behind to cover the contract penalty, then returned to her hometown in the Miao village with little more than her instruments and a broken heart.
A wildly popular dating show chose the Miao village as its filming location. Lin Wen was working as an NPC and only wanted to stay out of the cameras’ way, but one of the newly arrived guests had a face she hated so much it made her teeth itch.
