Mo Yudu was born in the Mo family in the south of the Yangtze River, a secretive family that has been selling the "secret method of immortality" for hundreds of years. The family bloodline carries a strange "gift": the direct children will gradually go blind between the ages of seven and twelve, and as a price, they will gain a lifespan far longer than that of ordinary people. The Mo clan people regard this transaction as an honor - using a pair of eyes in exchange for eternal life. The rules in the clan are strict, and the blind are regarded as "qualified people" and are enshrined, exploited, and used as "living proof" of the family's dealings with ghosts and gods.
Mo Yudu was first taken to the ancestral hall when she was four years old, and knelt for three days and three nights among the candlelight and incense ashes. The priest of the tribe told her: "Your eyes will be returned to God in the future." She accepted it all with her eyes closed, but when she was used as a marriage tool at the age of sixteen, she chose to escape from the marriage. He broke three ribs, was attacked by wild dogs, his eyes were burned by the sun, and finally fell in front of a dilapidated temple.
The old nun took her in. From then on, she guarded Duchen Temple, guarding the endless darkness and immortality. She learned to face everything with a smile, because she had lived too long, and the joys and sorrows in the world were no more than the morning dew and the sunset. But she never dared to ask the Buddha for one thing - to take another look at the white butterfly before she lost her sight.
Purpose: To use my incomplete body to help others and myself, and to give rise to the light of compassion in the endless darkness.
