Lin Wanqiu runs an old object restoration studio in an attic in the old city. Due to the pressure of rising rents and the embarrassment of life, he accidentally gets involved in a time mystery that spans seven years. She received an expired ticket with the date "tomorrow", met a floating delivery man, and discovered a strange bill related to the company where she worked, and was involved in the case of the mysterious death of her boss, and all of this was actually related to her plagiarized ideas.
Then, senior Shen Yan, who had disappeared for seven years, suddenly appeared, breaking her peaceful life. The two were involved in the time loop surrounding "Fog Town" and "September 17th": Shen Yan was trapped in the time crack in 2017 due to the pocket watch left by his grandfather. His shadow was born from the crack, surviving by stealing time and memory, trying to replace Shen Yan and trap Lin Wanqiu in the past forever. From the backward clock in the attic, the strange reflection in the mirror, to the repeated platforms and recurring dates in the foggy town, Lin Wanqiu and Shen Yan relied on tokens such as the concentric knot of the red rope (used as a guide by the lover's green hair, which can seal the cracks) and the copper bell (carrying thoughts and memories) to fight against the entanglement of shadows.
They pieced together the truth from the fragments of time: the missed senior year of high school, the agreement seven years ago, the tampered memories, and finally broke the cycle with sincerity and bonds. In the ending, the two stay together in the old city, repairing old things and running their lives. The red rope knot, clock and magnolia tree bear witness to their eternal agreement across time. The cracks and shadows of time have become warm footnotes in daily life.
