Huxley warned of a future in "Brave New World": people are deprived of the ability to feel pain due to satiation, and thus are deprived of true happiness.
This book is a young writer's rejection of that numbness. It looks back at the high school years - the shame in the group, the quiet execution of vitality by exam-oriented education, and those who are still unwilling to pretend to be sober in an era when there is too much chicken soup and too little guidance. It is terrible to lose consciousness. I write it down in order not to be forgiven.
