Introduction
The life of female college student Wang Minghui was brutally torn apart in the first week of school. She was abducted and trafficked to a remote mountain village. From then on, the chains became an extension of her body, and violence and humiliation became her daily breath. On the side of the real purgatory where she is, a more absurd and dangerous spiritual "grey zone" unfolds at the same time - the vicious dogs of hell prowl among the brimstone and ruins, close friends who symbolize youth and redemption are repeatedly devoured, and beautiful memories are distorted and deteriorated in the rooms of close friends.
This is a dark poem about imprisonment and escape, but the path of escape does not lead to the outside world, but goes deep into a spiritual world where women have been completely destroyed and difficult to rebuild. What connects reality and surreality is her mother-in-law, who was once an educated youth but has now become the most ruthless supervisor. Her past is like a long shadow, revealing how violence transcends eras and shapes victims into new perpetrators.
Deep in Wang Minghui's heart, which is on the verge of collapse, she must make the ultimate choice: to indulge in the eternal, painless dream of eternal youth, or to hold on to the scarred but extremely real connection represented by her aging mother and her everlasting old friend, and return to the broken world.
Through a multi-layered narrative intertwined with reality and surreality, this work profoundly explores spiritual survival under extreme violence, the reproduction of structural evil, the hidden transmission of historical trauma, and how a person reaches painful reconciliation with his broken self and world after redemption. This is a story about freedom, dignity, resilience, and how love becomes the last rope.
