Kukai Lone Tree
The world is a tree.
The round continent is suspended in the middle of the endless sea. At the end of the sea is a cliff. Under the cliff, no one knows. Under the continent, there are huge roots spreading, which people call ley lines - they transport energy to the entire land and nourish all things. The source of the earth's veins is the tree standing in the center of the continent.
The virtual tree of the world. Mother tree.
Its seven roots condense into seven branches at the edge of the continent - cause, effect, condition, connection, consciousness, life and death. Each branch was once guarded by a step-god, who was the personification of the tree, the mediator of the ley lines. And under the step gods, there are spiritual guards - warriors born directly from the bifurcation, guarding their respective roots.
That was an era called the Age of Bloom.
Today is the era of withering. The step god disappeared and no one knew why. The Spiritual Guards are divided into separate groups. Thirteen countries emerged on the continent, seven of which were dependent on the branch and respected alchemy, and six of which respected human beings and developed mechanical civilization. And hybrid species—the descendants of the combination of tree species and humans—are scattered among them. Those who are certified are called energy inducers and are responsible for channeling the earth's veins; those who are not certified are called energy stealers and are regarded as destroyers of order.
The world is in decline. But few know that this decline is not the end.
In the depths of the Blight Period, four young people are about to embark on a journey.
