Yan Ji, who was born unhappy, met Lu Xunye, who was fatherless and motherless, in an orphanage. They were separated because Lu Xunye was adopted by a married couple of the Lu Group (hence the name), and his biological father was adopted because he looked like his mother who died during childbirth.
