"Sunset in the Penultimate Row" takes the 100th anniversary of the No. 1 Middle School in 2026 as the starting point. It tells the story of Jiang Shu, who is forty years old and has just finished 23 years of prison life. He returns to school and reminisces about his youthful past with the girl Su Wan in front of the desk in the penultimate row. The two went from being rivals in performance to lovers who redeemed each other. Under the violence of their native family and the cruel crushing force of fate, the young man made a big mistake because of his out-of-control love. Su Wan stayed at the age of seventeen forever. After spending half his life in prison and full of regrets, Jiang Shu said his final farewell to his lost youth and eternal lover in the unchanging sunset, telling the story of love, pain, redemption and a life that cannot be repeated in his youth.
