Eight-year-old Su Xiaotang is a timid, introverted girl who longs for friends. On the night of the Leonid meteor shower, which occurs once in a century, she made a wish about "companying". A miracle happened - a meteor with a blue-purple halo fell into her rainbow schoolbag and turned into a round, soft little star spirit "Pulu".
Pulu is an intern guardian of the Starlight Kingdom. He skipped work and fled to Earth because he was afraid of the dark. The two "little cowards" hit it off and established a secret base in their schoolbags. In order to help Pulu collect "Courage Starlight" to go home, and to integrate Xiaotang into the class, they embarked on a series of ridiculous adventures: using starlight to bake "smile cookies" that can make people happy, creating dreamy lights and shadows at the campus talent show, and even fighting against the Devouring Beast who tried to steal the starlight."
When the biggest crisis came - the night when the stars dimmed and Pulu was about to disappear, Xiaotang, with the help of his classmates, mobilized the whole class to fold out paper stars full of heartfelt wishes, and gathered them into "collective light energy" that illuminated the night sky. The story ultimately reveals that the most powerful magic does not come from the sky, but from the heart, friendship and the courage to take the first step.
Purpose: This book uses the fantasy setting of "celestial companions" to gently touch on the issues of social fear and self-identity in children's growth. It aims to tell children: Loneliness can be cured by being listened to, timidity is the starting point of courage, and real magic comes from every active hand extended and hearts that trust each other.
