Dongsi, my childhood home, was an alley. There seems to be a map carved in white marble next to the entrance of the alley, but I don't know when it was replaced with a copper map.
Walking inside, there is a restaurant where I often eat. My favorite is its boiled chrysanthemum, which is blanched in water and topped with their "exclusive soy sauce". It is very delicious.
Walking into the middle is my home, which is a large courtyard with several families living in it. Although it is crowded, fortunately, the neighbors have good relations, and they often chat and play chess.
The days in Dongsi Courtyard are interesting now when I think of them. Those people, things, and things are all worth recalling.
